Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø Announces Appointment of New Vice-President for Academic Affairs

Dear Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø community, we are pleased to announce Dr. Chynarkul Ryskulova's appointment to the position of Vice-President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) and inform you that the Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø Board of Trustees has enthusiastically approved her election. As Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ryskulova will succeed former former VPAA, Dr. Nurgul Ukueva and assume her duties from Monday, September 4, 2023.

"Dr. Ryskulova's experiences and knowledge make her uniquely qualified to lead the academic affairs at Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø and advance the mission and core values of the University in close collaboration with faculty, staff, and researchers. Her combination of academic excellence, extensive experience in developing policies and designing curricula, international exposure, management experience, and research knowledge make her an ideal candidate for the position of VPAA. I look forward to working closely with Dr. Chynara Ryskulova to strengthen the faculty, curriculum, and academic environment of Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø." - Timothy E. O'Connor, the Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø President.

Dr. Ryskulova received her Ph.D. in Higher Education Management from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, USA, and joined Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø in 1998. She has served as Assistant Professor of English (1998-2007), acting Vice-President of Academic Affairs (2007-2008), Dean of Academic Affairs (2007-2010), Coordinator of the Writing and Academic Resources Center (WARC) and Associate Professor (2010-2011, 2012-2014), Co-chair of General Education Program and Associate Professor (2019-2021), and Co-chair of General Education Program and Professor since 2021 to present. In addition, she worked closely with former President Jonathan Becker and Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø faculty and staff over the past academic years and initiated the Summer Accelerated English Program at Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø. She oversees the programs outside First Year and Second Year Seminars, planned, designed, and coordinated the curriculum of the General Education Program as a co-chair of the program along with Mary Bernadette Conde.
